Hail and well met all! Da followin is what I tinks is da way an honorable warrior should be. Now dis is nae a definitive source fer wat an honorable warrior should be, jus wat me idea of what it tis. Some of da info here in dese codes dat I has written speak generally as well, so it can be used fer eidder house codes or other class codes. But I did nae feel dat I could seperate dem from da warrior codes an keep da meanin in it, so here it is.... Now, a warrior is nae necessarily a sword swingin, walkin armory shop. But fer all intents an' purposes, I is talkin of da true warrior class 'ere. An honorable warrior kin be called many tings. Dey is called Paladin, Knight, Child of Kai, or e'en warrior priest. Da basic principles dat any honorable warrior shoul' follow are: Honor, Valor, Faith, Honesty, Duty, Strength, Loyalty, an' Defeat. Honor: Above all else, is da priniciple dat we carry in highest esteem. Witout honor, we is lost. Honor, as we all know, is nae easily defined, but define it we do, define it....we must. Valor: We follow a hard road, but we follow dis road fer it tis our destiny, or our duty. Ta protect and champion da causes of da innocent an' da weak, under any condition or circumstance, no matter wat obstacle stands in da way, we mus find a way ta overcome. Faith: Faith in ourselves, in our abilities, Faith ta carry out our mission ta Elanthia's people. Faith ta our priniciples dat we carry, ta da deities dat we swear fealty ta. Faith is a mainstay in honorin oneself. Honesty: Witout honesty, how kin we be honorable? Honesty in nae only da actions dat we do everyday, but honesty wit ourselves an' in what we know dat we kin accomplish as an individual or as a group. Duty: We mus always strive ta be da best at wat we do. Teach Honor. We mus carry a large load, but we mus do dis willingly, seekin nae compensation fer our deeds, merely hopin dat we kin bring honor to dose dat seek it, an fer us ta pass our knowledge ta dem, an hope dat da chain continues, teacher to student. Strength: I speak of nae physical strength, but internal fortitude. We simply mus have da strength ta persevere, ta carry our word to all, ta make our cause a righteous an' dignified cause. Loyalty: Loyalty ta oneself, ta ones friends, ta ones house, ta ones deity, but above all des, loyalty ta da virtues dat ye carry. Defeat: Aye, Defeat. Ever heard da saying, "Ye can't win 'em all?" We mus learn from our failures, learn from our mistakes. Jus cause ye kinnae complete a task, help someone in der particular moment of need, drag a deader ta safety fer help, or any multitude of reasons, it does nae mean dat ye 'ave lost honor. ye must continue forward, an' etch the word honor inta da minds of those ye meet. Defeat is one of da greatest teachers dat one kin have. From defeat, ye kin only gain victory, for now ye know what caused dat defeat, an' now ye kin be prepared ifin it happens again. As a warrior, all da above virtues come inta me mind, but I has lived by des virtues rom my first step in da Lower Dragonsclaw. Ta assist those in need, ta not drink too much in public an' make a fool of yerself, ta neber kill anudder in cold blood, ta nae abuse or misuse yer power on dose dat be younger den ye.. All des tings an' more. Ye kinnae put inta words wat honor is, ye kin only attempt ta put words ta wat it stands fer. I is nae perfect, an' dis I know. I know da valuse dat I has listed above may be rather obtruse ta some, seein as how I is speakin of a warriors way. But, da words I has written, come from a warrior, therefore, in me eyes, tis me own code of conduct. There is much else that can be written or added to this. Things dat da cloud magnet and Lord Warlord has put into writtin already. Aye, an I agree wit wat dey has written. Des are me words, des words are me heart....... Honor for today, and always, ~Lord Tebon Hawggweiler Lord Paladin of House Onoir Master Warrior of Voln |
